Returning Project Server Enterprise Custom Field values in MS Project 2010 - VBA

Hi,

I am currently trying the return a duration and a date value back from Enterprise Custom Fields being brought in from Project Server 2010 in my MS Project 2010 client.

Using the GetFields method: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb211355.aspx, it would appear to return the values in the display format set in the client.

For Example:

Duration Field 1 = 4 Days

Depending on the client settings this could also be returned in Hours, Weeks etc...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is there anyway I can return these values in a standard and consistant format so that I can deal with them and write them back as required?

It is suggested by the community comments that this is the only way: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/community/history/bb211355(v=office.12).aspx?id=2

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated

Kind Regards

Giles
