I just got access to a 2013 upgrade and I see that the big new capability is to use a "Task Path" function. I see that if you check any one of the 4 types (like driving predecessor) then Project will insert symbology for a milestone, task, and summary into Format==>BarStyles for that type. Furthermore, Project inserts those bar styles where it makes sense to Project. If you uncheck a particular Task Path function, then Project removes all the bar styles for that function.
The problem is that what makes sense for Project maybe doesn't make sense for my team and myself. For example, I might want the Predecessor bar style to be shown even over a critical item. Or maybe I want to show a different bar style for something that is a Predecessor and is critical.
How can we create a view that identifies the Task Function bar styles that we want (maybe with different colors or bar shapes) and preserve those bar styles so that it is easily repeatable?
