Custom oData feed from MS Project ?

Hi,

Experienced web dev but brand new to Project. I noticed that Microsoft Project is able to connect to Project Server through an OData feed.

I'm wondering about the best integration path for miletones data found in external databases. For example is this possible to create an OData feed according the some specification so that users would be able to open/change those data directly from my own web site rather than from Project Server?

Or does Project Server have some kind of Tools to expose external data as data feeds (including passing back changes to those external sources).

Basically what is the best path for schedules stored Inside distinct applications and being able to access them through a Project client.

Thanks in advance.
