Unable to update the Project custom fields using updateProjectproperty

Hi All

I am using updateprojectproperty in the Visual Studio 2010 workflow inorder to update the custom fields like Status and so on based on the approval. But the updated values are not being reflected until the user clicks on Edit button. When user clicks on Edit button, then the value will be appeared.

I think the values are not getting published.
