I've been creating a site template for use with and Enterprise Project Type. I have previously save the project site as a template without any issues.
I made a few changes to the template some new images and a little bit of house keeping but when I tried to save the site again as a template I got the following error in the ULS:
Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: Feature definition with Id 00384ab6-16c0-46a4-ad87-8aa2bf4b343f failed validation, file 'testListInstances\ElementsFields.xml', line 1555, character 94: The 'BdcField' attribute is not allowed.
I can still create a project and project site from my original project site template (which contains some ECTs). So as a test I tried to save the newly created project site as a site template with a different name. I get the same error. The wsp is available in the solutions gallery but I get the BDCField attribute not allowed error if I try to activate it. There is no difference to the site template that is already active and the one that is not.
The only thing I have done in between the saving of the original site template, that activated succesfully and the saving of the same template, when activation fails, is I have deleted a number of projects from the project center using the Delete Enterprise Objects in the server settings.
Can anyone help?
Many Thanks, Des
