Import MPP files to MS Project

I have a user that almost has a hundred MPP files saved in a local machine. 

These MPP files were created in an MS Project Server development environment. 

This user now wants these MPP files or the data in the dev MS Project Server moved to production.

I'm not familiar with Project Server's capabilities from a programmer's perspective.

Is it possible to do this programmatically in VBA using Project Pro or better yet using Visual Studio?

So, any suggestions or recommendations would be helpful.
